| Annual Benefit |
On May 16th, 2008 the On Your Feet Foundation hosted its annual fundraising event. Thank you to everyone that joined us for a night of Bistro, Bidding, Bocce, and Bowling at Pinstripes (www.pinstripes.com) in Northbrook, IL. The night was a success with great food and entertainment, all while raising money for a very worthwhile cause. The mission of The On Your Feet Foundation is to help birthparents (after placing a child for adoption) find their footing and confidently step forward into the future. | 5k Walk/Run |
In the fall of 2008, On Your Feet Foundation will take on a new project. With the help of the Sally Sommer Flynn Foundation we will sponsor a 5K Run/Walk for Families. The Sally Sommer Flynn Foundation was founded by Mary Beth Sommer, Sally's sister, to honor her 29-year battle with cancer. Since its inception three years ago The Sally Sommer Flynn Foundaton has made significant donations to On Your Feet Foundation. | Birthmom Retreats | OYFF hosts annual or
bi-annual retreats for birthparents to connect and talk about how
adoption has affected their lives. Like so many other small
groups of people, alienation and feeling like you are the only one is
a difficult aspect of being a birthmom. These retreats give
birthparents the opportunity to share a part of their lives that is
often overlooked by family, friends and society.
