"We have seen the strength and resolve of birth parents up close. You’ve proven you have the strength to succeed in life, if only you had a support network of people who believed in you."

The On Your Feet Foundation is dedicated to helping you, the birth parent, embark on a journey to a better life. We can provide you with just the help you need today to make all of your tomorrows a lot brighter.

Whether you dream of landing a new job, furthering your education, getting job training, or achieving some other goal, the On Your Feet Foundation offers a wide variety of assistance and can be very creative if you have unique needs.
We are an organization of few rules but much compassion.

How We Can Help
First, you’ll fill out a simple form so we can get to know you a little better. Then you’ll sit down with your mentor who will get things rolling by really listening to you, your challenges, and your goals. Together, you’ll outline the steps needed to overcome those challenges and achieve your goals. Your mentor will match you up with the kinds of assistance the Foundation can provide—and stay with you until you’re well on your way to a better life.

Additional Links & Resources

1. How do I know if I qualify for help? Any birth parent living in Illinois or Indiana who has followed through on an adoption plan within the past 36 months is eligible for help from the On Your Feet Foundation.

2. What kind of things do you provide money for? Anything that helps you “get back on your feet” and started toward a brighter future. Although we frequently help with costs associated with education or job training, there really are no hard and fast rules. In fact, we take pride in our flexibility in this area.

3. What if I’m not sure what I need or what my goals are? You probably do have goals, you just need help clarifying them and devising a plan to achieve them. Our mentors would be happy to assist you with this.

4. Who will I be working with? We’ll match you up with a mentor who is an experienced adoption advocate. More importantly, your mentor is someone who cares enough to take the time to really get to know you, and stick with you until you are well on your way to a better life.

5. How do I get started? Just fill out the attached form and we’ll take it from there. It could be the first step toward getting “back on your feet!”

6. How can I reach you? To speak to someone directly, call Vicki Twomey at (224) 578-1850.
