Each Spring and Fall, the On Your Feet Foundation holds weekend retreats for birth mothers. This unique experience is not only attended exclusively by birthmothers, it is facilitated by birthmothers as well.
Retreats are held in Michigan City, Indiana, a resort community on the shores of Lake Michigan. The location is easily accessible by car, by plane to Chicago or Indianapolis airports, Amtrak train or even bus. We are happy to assist you with arranging your transportation to and from the retreat.
OYFF underwrites each retreat, enabling us to maintain a low registration fee of $100 per participant. This fee includes two nights lodging, meals during the retreat and all materials. (Please note this does not cover transportation to or from the retreat).
Our volunteer facilitators, Jennifer Pedley and Cher Pollock, are both board members of the On Your Feet Foundation. Combined, they have over 35 years of professional experience as social workers as well as both being birthmothers to their (now adult) children.
If you are a birthmother, in any type of adoption...open, closed, a recent placement, a placement many years ago...we hope you will consider coming to a retreat. We promise there is much to gain...and little to lose by trying!
